There Once Was Today Poem by Vera Sidhwa

There Once Was Today

He went for a long walk,
In some long woods,
And there for some long time,
There he stood, there he stood.

He admired the leaves,
And verdure of these woods.
He admired the greatest of this place,
As he would, as he should.

He reached the dark and cool,
Interior of a place he slightly recognized.
His mind did not fathom,
Whether it was yesterday or today.

He stood there on the mid-line,
Of yesterday and today.
He wanted to return back,
But around this line,
Yesterday was today.
