There Is A Man... Poem by LLM Mbatha

There Is A Man...

Rating: 2.9

There is a man that's so hollow
Nothing fills him up
Though he keeps on going on
His thirst is always rife
So he drinks, drinks and drinks
Drowning
Deep into the sea of emptiness
His loves are many
But he is never happy
He takes the centre stage
And the strangers would cheer
at him
Yet behind his closed door
Tears roll down his face
He works over time, all the time
But his tasks are never done
And my God, I wish so much
That this man wasn’t ME
