there is beauty in smaller things
a single red petal of a rose
in my pocket
a white pebble hidden
in my shoe
a lock of hair of my beloved
inserted
in a page of my favorite poem

a little space where i sit
in my garden
a single tree to shade
my head
a little bird singing above
my hair

a small rock where i can
just sit
and feel the slow
movement of this earth

in here
there is peace and quiet
in here
i am king
