There Are No Unicorn's Oz Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

There Are No Unicorn's Oz

Rating: 5.0

She was far from a: Steel Magnolia
Yet her eyes were always upon the Earth
Her personal letters were, at times, profound
The Homestead of Amherst her birth

Committed daily to her written word
Casting an indifferent eye upon fools
Her poetry - a tapestry of the chameleon
A hazardous pen to those who broke the rules

Saving herself - a near recluse of her home
Many a verse - children could sing
Withdrawing to her parlor and the mirror of life
Reflecting upon what fantasy might bring

She pulled herself away from the evils of witchcraft
And those callus souls that cast demonic spells
Detoxing her fragile body became a necessity
Protecting herself from the demons of Hell

Succumbing in the end to: Brights Disease
Her kidneys badly damaged over time
Who then was truly responsible for her departure?
The answer - can be found in 'Poetic Rhyme'
