Their Kind Of Words Poem by Shalom Freedman

Their Kind Of Words

AND I DON’T HAVE / THEIR KIND OF WORDS

And I don’t have
Their kind of words.
Keats, Hopkins, Stevens
Shakespeare, Dickinson.
I don’t have
Their kind
Of Poetry.
A higher deeper
More beautiful poetry-
I don’t have it.

I have simple words
And a tired old soul
And a love of God,
And a singing in the wilderness

A poem with a difference that shows the humility expression of the learned poet and likes it.

A poem with a difference that shows the humility expression of the learned poet and honorific comment on great minds passed over but still lives through their great works. In fact it is a mind opening poem and in that sense I likes it.
