The World Is Watching Poem by Danny Draper

The World Is Watching

Rating: 5.0

The world is watching
From the peoples growing sway,
Unclench your fists and
lower your arms,
You cannot dissuade us
Our determination is endless,
Sit and talk with us and
Our freedom will be won.

The world is watching
The global village firm as one,
Shed old constricting shackles
Grow in spreading light,
Ignorance is at an end
Dismantle your tyranny,
Walk and build with us
Our free future is as one.

The world is watching
Tired regimes cling to the status quo,
Thrash against their people
The resolute gathering tide,
The chant will ring and grow
An anthem to the cause,
Of oppressed voices empowered
To rebuild anew triumphant.

The world is watching
Failed states and complicit allies,
Multinationals driven by greed
Growing starvation and poverty,
Vast global profits and political expediency
Inversely proportionate to,
Environmental degradation
And the elusive greater good.

The world is watching,
by knowledge in strength,
The peoples in unity
will not be denied.
