The Workers Again They Are Marching Poem by Francis Duggan

The Workers Again They Are Marching

The workers again they are marching two hundred thousand in Melbourne today
Protested against the Government's Industrial Relations Bill the fight is only beginning they say
United we won't be defeated but divided we are bound to fall
We must stand as one on this issue the Government's bluff we will call,
The workers again they are marching they crowd through the street of the Town
From Governmental threats and bully tactics the Unions will never back down
The Government who represent wealthy employers have in this one a hell of a fight
There is no greater force in the Nation than the workers when the workers unite,
The workers again they are marching two hundred thousand on Swanston Street
No they will not suffer in silence united they won't know defeat
They will not put up with exploitation the Unions will never give in
The Unions are made up of workers of working class women and men
And the workers again they are marching and victory for them will be sweet
On this issue they are united and united they cannot be beat.
