The Words Of My Supplication Poem by Yasmin Khan

The Words Of My Supplication

Rating: 5.0

Some words like butterflies
On my lips flutter and fly-
O God! Give me courage and might
To stay determined and upright
To face the worst, life’s fright
When kismet gives blows and smite
And if some moments bitter
Spoil the mirth of happy hour

Help me O God! to keep up my masts
And sail on waters of life so vast
Give my lantern of love a flame so bright
To diffuse the dark with ever flickering light

Prick and pierce some memories of the past
When my lips said prayers but all were lost
Those moments rest in my heart like pangs
But soothe away when I raise my hands
To pray to you and be grateful for the Grace
In bout of agony, pain and distress
To give me strength and let not stagger
On the paths rugged, hurt and clobber

O God! I bow my head in gratitude
For all the blessings I receive in multitude.

This could be a beautiful prayer with a sustained rhythm and a set of rhyme scheme by reediting.Sensibly written.

This is a lovely prayer, but after we pray it is good to believe that we receive it, or if it was not meant for us, it shall pass. Life is a school room, where we get lessons. Some is teaching us what to do, or some what never do again. If you can see the problems in your life like this, nothing will bother you. I went through war, revolution, dead bodies around, starvation, bombings, but all the time I just know, that it shall pass. And it did. I am the happiest in the world. Many thanks for your comment.
