The Wooden Ode From A Floating Moment Without You Poem by Luke J. Holt

The Wooden Ode From A Floating Moment Without You

the beaches were streaked with snow
and like a pink elf you stood naked
with your footprints marred by dust
how i have rendered you dizzy with noxious fawnings!
how i have taken you're young heart's nectar and brined it with kisses!
i shall collapse beneath your floorboards
so that the mice may sleep without terror in the ceiling
and so that the naysayers may reproach with only the echo of their placid mutters
tickling like drizzle now that i have made them consumate their oppression
i have shown them the shape of their cells
but the lines are only tracks that mislead the eyes to the singing tomb you all follow
this flower was grown from the glossy sap of stars
and its green is a cold tint of life
we have not seen
