The Wise Ones Poem by Amanda Lobsiger

The Wise Ones

The people who don't care about birthdays anymore
I think they are lucky ones
They have taken countless beautiful trips around the sun
A birthday just marks that they've made it around once more
They are the wisest people
The things they have seen, they places they've been
And the things they have done
They know so much about life and they're legacies are usually forgotten
They're wrinkles mark the times they have laughed and cried
Not a need for Botox
For this they should be proud
