The Winds Of Fate Poem by Ella Wheeler Wilcox

The Winds Of Fate

Rating: 4.9

One ship drives east and another drives west
With the selfsame winds that blow.
Tis the set of the sails
And not the gales
Which tells us the way to go.
Like the winds of the seas are the ways of fate,
As we voyage along through the life:
Tis the set of a soul
That decides its goal,
And not the calm or the strife.

The winds of fate blow for everyone scattering love and broken dreams and dreams of hope.

To me the poem is about setting your lifetime goal and continually working toward that goal.

I believe this poem is a heartfelt description of the way Ella Wilcox felt about her life. It is an individuals personal determination that sets their path through life. Let us not forget that circumstance does play a role in the life we choose but ultimately we can decide which way to go.
