The Willow

Weeping nature
Calm silence
Beautiful nature
Resting tree

My somber friend
My quite friend
Hollow limbs
Hollow heart

Sunlight resting upon my feet
Shadows of the limbs lay upon my face
The cool breeze runs by me
The grass gently touching my skin

Flowers dyed in beauty
Nature calm and serene
Water flows in the creek
Gently caressing and cooling the grass

My willow, so gentle
My willow, so grateful
My willow, so beautiful
My willow, my tree

Poem of the Day

poet Paul Laurence Dunbar

I Found you and I lost you,
All on a gleaming day.
The day was filled with sunshine,
And the land was full of May.

A golden bird was singing
Its melody divine,
