The Whispering Wind Poem by Catherine Shipman

The Whispering Wind

Whispering, whispering into my ear
Telling me, telling me just to not fear
Compelling me, telling me to be more near

I fell and I yell and I flew
I felt so grand and new
Can't you come, won't you come too?

It lifted me up higher, higher and higher
Till I flew up and touched the sky

I touched the sun, I touched the moon and I touched the rainbow too
I breathed the crystal clean clear air
I saw the turtle dove too
I heard it coo, I'm telling you

I touched
I breathed
I saw
I heard,
A gentle little bird
