The Weight Of The Years Is Too Much

THE WEIGHT OF THE YEARS IS TOO MUCH
IN MEMORY OF YAAKOV YISRAEL BEN REUVEN
JAKE FREEDMAN

The weight of the years is too much
We never get used to the loss of a young person
A too young person
We never reconcile ourselves to a death
That might have been a life otherwise

My brother Jakie
Who would have been seventy-five this year
And died at the age of fifty –two
My brother Jakie

Does God care for you in some world-to- come
As your family still does here?
