The Way Of Life Poem by Megan VanPool

The Way Of Life

Rating: 5.0

People surround me
Invading my space
I'm suffocating
Air supply cut off
as this noose tightens

I step

A sea of black engulfs me
Images flash my past.
It's almost gone.
Fingers wrap around my wrist

They tug
Memories flood back

They tug
Sunshine enters view

They tug
My head breaks surface

They tug
Air rushes into my lungs

They tug
I see your face

They tug
I return to life.
