The Wave Poem by Danton Neilson

The Wave

Puffy white clouds breathe out and fade into the clearest blue sky,
Streaming sunlit rays make their way to the welcome of a chilly ocean bed,
Diving sea birds fall gracefully into the fleeing promise of a deep blue sumptuous feast,
As shiny grey dolphins race through air and water to the tune of a splendid ocean dance.

And suddenly there it was...

A magnificent wave that rose so high above all others,
With all their love riding so perfectly upon the foamy crest of this determined sparkling wave,
Going its own way and rising high,
Carrying them forward and towards all things,
Rolling over sapphire blue depths and into crystal waters new,
Never stopping once for pause or prayer,
Always pushing onwards and heading there,
His love holding her high,
With all her strength carrying him along on their great journey,
Together moving forward,
Like a dazzling watery rush of effervescent colour,
Through such a wonderful and heavenly world,
Seen through ever hopeful eyes,
And felt with two beating hearts,
Into the bright horizon they went,
With strength of waters deep,
Gleaming like the sea gull's eye,
Happy to be going ahead together,
As one they travelled onwards,
As one they moved in harmony and loved the other,
...and then, like magic, they suddenly turned!
To wave the approaching shore goodbye,
Turning from a crashing end...like some kind of miracle,
With new horizons to head for,
And renewed hope to accompany them on their next majestic journey,
With a startled sea turtle's glance...there they were again,
With the sun still shining,
And the birds still soaring high,
As lesser waves met their foamy end in final awe of such splendid spectacle,
As the great wave rolled on its way,
Carrying them together as one,
Not stopping once for rest or retrospection,
Since their love was always moving forward,
Always.
And Together.
Never to fear their end upon rocks or shore,
Just happy riding upon such bold and hopeful heights of water.

And always together.
On their most beautiful wave...
