The Warrior Poem by Ronald Speight

The Warrior

Everyday is a struggle for him a new battle awaits
He doesn’t fight with others
Because the battle is with self
The hardest war to fight is one unseen
One alone with for and against yourself

He is asked what do you know about life
You’re only but a child and he responds
With a simple question what’s your
Greatest fear they answer
Heights, spiders, etc

I think I have them beat
I open my hand to reveal fingers trembling
This is my fear I live through it everyday
I fight, I struggle, I have MS

So everyday is a struggle I await my battle
I fight alone by myself
My battle is unseen and will never end
I’m the warrior
