The War Poem by richard belis

The War

the revolutionary war so bloody and cruel,
the war started at the dust of dawn so cold so fearful,
the earnest in the people's heart who were in battle,
knowing their death can come the war and there pride,
the loss of there own life was enough but the loss for their country,
wasn't about to happen, with the soldiers at hand they fought,
with all their might and all their right, the colonist and others fought,
from night till day the blood spread through all grounds,
the blood of men and boys, there blood all over the floor,
as the soldiers ran the saw the lifeless faces of young men,
they saw the fright in their eyes the lost fight the loss of their hope,
the soldiers ran and ran for as much as they could,
the blood and blood spread more and more,
until the battle ground had the red stains on the soil,
the day break came and so many left the battle,
so many saw too much for their own life the sight of killed men,
and the sight of the blood on the ground the soldiers ran,
they ran the night to their homes to their fire,
just to be warm just once that day, that whole day was cold and brutal,
they lost much life and much of there mental minds,
the soldiers fled but not far for when the opponent caught them,
they wish they died in battle, they wish they didn't see that boy,
on the floor with the loss of life with the loss of hope,
when caught you were lucky, you were put to death,
out of pain, out of your horrible life and you will now,
look down upon the future pain will hold you will find yourself,
baffled and insecure but you'll watch the battle and shriek,
that days battle will always be on people's minds and will always be on,
my own mind my lost and dark mind will remember the day,
that boy lost all hope and died on that cold brutal day...
