The Wanderer Poem by Juan Olivarez

The Wanderer

Rating: 5.0

I cannot stand to be cooped up,
I must be free to roam.
Whether in the Mojave with my pup,
Or in Texas, in my home.

I love to see the wonders,
That God has all around.
And I love to hear the thunder,
Free and far from town.

I love to see the mountains,
And the Mojave's desert sands.
Waterfalls and fountains,
That abound throughout the land.

I love to feel the gentle breeze,
Caress me in the face.
Walking underneath oak trees,
In the early morning haze.

I cannot stand to be cooped up,
I love the great outdoors.
My love for nature will never stop,
Each day I live, I love it more.
