The Universe Poem by Stefanie Fontker

The Universe

“This could never
Be a real competition.
You're fighting
For first place
And the last gold medal,
When I've always had
Every single trophy
You've had your eyes on.”

Once in a blue moon
When demons cry,
We confuse people
With material
Possessions and apparatus.
Toys to be passed around,
Dime a dozen prostitutes.
But she's more than that to me.
She’s the compact universe.
