The Unhealing Wound Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

The Unhealing Wound

Don't look at me
You heavenly angel
as my heart is weak
and can't bear the shock,
if you bid bye
when fortune smiles.

Your sharp fixed eyes
nix me from turning
my face in sides.
Your gentle manners
sweet words and face
are enough to make
a heist of my heart
which has an unhealing wound
caused by the beasts
among the human creatures.

I sat at the shores
when the waves advanced
to wet my feet and receded.
The breeze embraced my heart.
The kids ran around me.
But the sore remains uncured.

I lay on the meadows in hills.
The scent of flowers I inhaled.
The tunes of birds I heard.
The mists made on me raids.
All these failed to mend
the wound so deep in heart.

The temples had my feet
trodden in obeisance.
The sounds of the bells
waved around my heart.
I spoke to god in silence.
No use! The hurt remains.

Don't look at me
you heavenly angel.
My heart is not hearty
to bear the quakes
and the swallowing tsunami.
Don't romp through my heart.
