The Truth Is Poem by Brian Kilpatrick

The Truth Is

Your words
Are a harsh reminder
Of what truth is
Hard to find
Your plan for transparency
Is opaque as the winter ice
Your youthful naïveté
Has turned into sour grapes
Your dreams and promises
Are unrecognizable
You sold us hope and
You delivered
The same old the same old
