The Triumphant Ones Poem by RIC BASTASA

The Triumphant Ones

Rating: 5.0

those who live in the privacy of their rooms
are those who have mastered the art of peeping

their lives are sheltered by the house of darkness
and the world is nothing but a window of the blinds

they do not speak much, they have nothing to say,
when you pass by, they have seen you, and
feasted at you, but you do not know this,

what is in them that makes them know much better?
they keep all the stories to themselves, and then
when they come out in the open, they insult what
light has been bragging. Those that take pride in the
light are charred and take the helplessness of the dead.
