The Transition Poem by Khaleel Steir

The Transition

Being at the center is where everyone else is
No matter how hard I try nothing changes
Why am I always the one to be in the outer circle
Almost an outcast, more like an acquaintance yet they say we're all family
No matter how close I get to them, I somehow find myself alone
Maybe in time things will change, maybe that's what it is
This transition feels different, but for now I'll sit here and ponder my existence
