The Trace Of Beauty Poem by Janri Gogeshvili

The Trace Of Beauty

To the woman
ashamed of her beauty

Many knights kept on singing to you,
Many saw you in their dreams,
And you stay there – in the fairy-lands,
The passion and yearning bark
In the easy life of other maidens.
Many times, you’ve been scratched with claws,
You seem oppressed by your charm,
You look helpless, even when you smile,
The trace of beauty resembles a scar…
