The Tornado Poem by Rajesh Thankappan

The Tornado

Rating: 5.0

I could see the electric poles fly apart
Lines snap asunder
Giant trees uprooted like weed
Cars uplifted like matchbox
And smashed onto the ground with disdain,
While the landscape was engulfed
In an eerie dusty darkness
And the sound of the tornado
Pounding menacingly
Raged in my ears
Threatening to reduce into smithereens
Anything and everything
That came its way.

I could see, that my mind was in a whirl
My aching heart in a swirl -
No! It was not a horrible tornado
But a passing anger, ranting and raving.

Catchy title. A story of the devastating effects of a dangerous storm well penned. A very nice piece of poetry. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful poem with many captivating lines make it quiet interesting. I could see, that my mind was in a whirl My aching heart in a swirl - No! It was not a horrible tornado But a passing anger, ranting and raving. Very true said, when our anger can take in form of Tornado and don't know who all it will engulf in its rage. Especially it is very difficult to control and blew everyone and even deadly dangerous than Tornado. Nature shows its fury in form of Tornado...Beautiful description in each lines..Loved reading it.
