The Tempter’s Demise (3)

The tempter knows the truth so well
Though truth he cannot speak
He’ll lies his evil way to hell
There death each day to seek

But death will never grace his path
Relief no dawn will see
For him and his, eternal wrath
Will come by Royal decree

The bible warns of Satan’s ploys
His subtlety to woo
His crafty ways cunning decoys
To trap God’s chosen few

We need but on The Rock to stand
Rely on Him who died
Who rose again to God’s right hand
And calls us to abide

The tempter must to Jesus bow
Must humbly call Him Lord
Knowing when ends the here and now
He’ll feel His Master’s sword

Temptation full of subtle lies
A masquerade of light
Yet swift we witness its demise
When in Christ’s name we fight

He must obey when Jesus calls
When Jesus speaks his name
Now arrogant, he soon recalls
The future pit of flame

We too must think of death and hell
Of life and judgement day
Think well on what our lives will tell
What God to us will say?
