The Temptation Poem by Elisha Wall

The Temptation

Rating: 4.5

You demon from hell,
spiteful in the wiles you have come,
you reek of scum and
ooze of your cankered bread.

You are an enemy of God,
and I belong to Him.
Thus you have come to deceive me
had you known that I am blessed...

Depart from me, oh fiend.
Behold the road and cross the land.
If you return with ardor
I am more than blessed.

An excellent self revelation, often most wouldn't do. Nice write, with aptly handled paraphrasing. Thanks for sharing.

Satan is very shrewd..... he keeps the snare and waits eagerly to see man falling in his trap! He tempted even Jesus! To have temptations is quite natural.... but to get over them, needs courage and grace! Great write!
