He was in charge of documenting the machine
How to run it, how to stop it
How to tweak it, how to maintain it
He knew the rules: simplify the complex with no ambiguity
Never add your opinion, your emotions or your humor
Over the years the machine became more intricate
And so did the documentation
He became an expert on the machine
He wrote many volumes on it and always stuck to the rules
Day by day, month by month, year by year
And then on the day of the final release, he became the machine
