The Tears Of A Looser Poem by Dorothy (Alves) Holmes

The Tears Of A Looser

Some one offered him a hand,
He had no way to know
It was the boogieman
I watched him on the news that evening,
He cried when they handcuffed him,
He explained he was just trying to be
Somebody,
Just looking for a place of
Respectability...
A place that would boast of
His manhood...
A place that would boast he had
arrived at his place in the sun,
A haven for his languishing dreams
Dissolving in his tears.
