THE TASSEL

I can’t believe seems though it may,
I really did start college today.

To put my self through all this hassle,
Just to get my college tassel.

All the learning from class to class,
Just squeaking by, with an average pass.

To continue, just to move on,
You can’t cheat and you can’t con.

To put myself through all this hassle,
Just to get my college tassel.

I pay for my schooling I might as well try,
And still have hundreds of books to buy.

I’m starting to get it who would have thought!
So many doors open to me, with the education I bought.

There’s more to the tassel then meets the eye,
All the homework was worth it, and I didn’t die.

As I gaze at my cap, and my colorful tassel,
Representing my self really wasn’t a hassle.

With my new career I will go far,
As for my tassel, it looks good in my new sports car.

Shelli....A beautiful rhyming poem. By the way, what is a tassel?
