The Swift Day Part 4 Poem by Marilyn Shepperson

The Swift Day Part 4

Rating: 5.0

Swiftly rising, he caught her up
Into his arms, he kissed her as if beloved
In that instant up sprang a storm
The like of which had never been seen
His horse, not tied, bolted away
With a whinny of fright, as the rain came down
While up in the tower, the young man
Made ready to leave the other worldly maid
But try as he might, he could not open the door
She turned from the wheel with a dreadful laugh
'You have kissed me. Now you are mine
Forever and a day that will last forever'
And as the clouds finally covered the moon
The tower vanished forever from sight
