The Swan Poem by Morgan Michaels

The Swan

This struggle through the still Undone,
pendulous, laborious,
is like the clumsy waddling of a swan.

And Death, his timid leap from land-
his leaving go of everything familiar,
his ultimate, trust-the-pond

Solution. And the waves agree. They catch him,
bear him gently
further and further from the shore,
the wake of the Past
dividing behind him, league upon league
as, evermore regally and more,
he enters the Beyond.
