The Sufis Are Gonna Get Me For This...

Rating: 4.8

When Nasrudin was young
he grew tired of his town
the people were stupid
they made him frown!

So filled with contempt
he put his feet to the road
no travelling companion
not even a toad!

Not far had he travelled
when he chanced to encounter
a wisened old man
- they stopped to banter

Tell me good sirrah
have you travelled long?
you certainly seem dusty
and smell a bit strong!

This fair world I've travelled
both far and wide
and quit with the insults
it's not nice to be snide!

Then tell me good fellow
- I'm sorry I was rude
the people in the next town
are they kind, and good?

Well in order to answer
you must tell me first
the citizens of your home town
were they the worst?

Funny you should say that
they certainly were!
a bigger bunch of:

Fatuous liars,
amatuer cheaters,
inane thiefs,
and drunk wife beaters...
Bunion scraggers,
carpet baggers,
henry's men,
and hidden daggers...
Shanghai artists,
social misfits,
sniffers of herring
and utter dipshits...

you have never, EVER, seen!

Well in that case dear chap
- and although it's a shame
you'll find in the next town
they're exactly
the same
