The Story Of 'Rocky Balboa' Poem by Poras Sharma

The Story Of 'Rocky Balboa'

Raised in the mean streets of Philadelphia,
His life was a worthless story,
He craved for pride and love,
Leading a life replete with glory.

His peers and this merciless world, always subjected to him a crass,
But in his dreams, he was the acquaintance of a noble class
One fine day, his pleas were heard,
Opportunity, he was granted, albeit with a formidable opposition to surpass.

Doubts in mind proliferated like a holocaust,
But a small ray of hope obstructed him from being lost,
His chosen goal was hard to surmount,
But his faith and ingrained sensitivity,
Acted like an assassin without bound.

Recollecting all his might,
He embarked on the tumultuous path,
His constant companions being tears, blood and pain,
Making him realise that hard times mustn't vanish in vain.

On a given date, the doom's day arrived.
The confronting street meant fight or flight,
Like a beast he growled his lethal roar,
The rival went drowning despite descended on elevated shores.

His fable will make rounds till eternity,
That if character of a man is symbolised with dignity,
Then odds may descent from heaven,
But it's possible to famish them like raven.
