The Storm Poem by Myrtle Thomas

The Storm

The Storm

The storm brewing in the elements
overpowering humanity as it vents
the continuing abuse of nature
has taken us to this course
polluting our home, many without remorse

Now the wind, water and soil thrash us in it's wake
volcanoes blast overflowing while the earth quakes
famine and desolation, every day in the news
while governments of nations look to wars as the first issue

These things will surely come to pass
from the Bible we were told
for the truth of these words are more precious than gold
heed now the signs that were once long ago prophesied, by the men of old
for we in our sin now pay the price just as Judas (Jesus) he sold

Wake up this generation! and look
as nature itself now reflects God's word
this generation could soon see the reality of the Gospel we've heard
respect the creator and the guide lines jesus Christ taught
for life and security are the comforts Christ's death and resurrection bought.

Matt.24: 37-39 'Just as the days of Noah were, so shall the presence
of the son of man be. For as they were in those before the flood, eating drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark; and they took no note until the flood came and swept them away, so the presence of the son of man be.' (The events of ' the days of Noah ' that are described here took place over a period of many years. Jesus compared his presence with what occurred back then.)

We have not been left uninformed, but down through history the signs
have been a warning to humanity.
