Dear Terry, your poem should get the First Prize. This is the Only poem in the entire contest which made me read again and again - just for the sheer joy of the lilting, haunting lyrics. I myself would have written this poem in a different manner, but I am not sure if I would have the desired effect! I bow before your natural poetic talent. I think I have to learn a few poetic skills from you. I shall be surprised if you do not win. But you cannot predict anything in an Online Contest - which can be easily manipulated by cyber savvy poets! ! (See my poem Poem Hunter Contest Final to have an idea of how a contest can be manipualetd...) (Report) Reply

not a new story i guess, but well-told. even not knowing all the words or understanding everything perfectly, i loved the flow and the great rhyming.
    i especially enjoyed
The Raven sits, with wings outspread,
Atop the Stone which shades the dead
    ...it sometimes shimmers ruby red
    .........it sometimes shimmers ruby red

thanks for sharing. i give it excellent. (Report) Reply

Poem of the Day

poet Wilfred Owen

All sounds have been as music to my listening:
Pacific lamentations of slow bells,
The crunch of boots on blue snow rosy-glistening,
Shuffle of autumn leaves; and all farewells:
