'The Still Of The Night' - Poem by Howard Savage

"The Still of the Night"
As I gaze out my window, the night is dark
and still, the dampness of the night, has given
my very soul a chill.
For the light in your eyes, tells me you are still
awake, for I must behold your face, to free my
thirst, and cure my everlasting ache.
My heart count the moments, with every lasting
beat, for I am your victim of love, as I sit in this
cold and dark room, for it is the profoundness of
your love, that has sealed my very doom.
See how the moon, cast away, the still of the night,
for it is the sparkle in your eyes, that makes my
morning bright.
In vain I struggle to reach you, so I can gaze upon
your face, unfortunately, I am forever confined, to
this dark and lonely place.

Deep work right here, I like the imagery you use in this poem it is truly great. Another thing is it's so crazy how one thing or person can totally change the way you are feeling emotions are a amazing and powerful thing and I could feel the pain and joy. (Report) Reply
