The Stage Poem by Mariah Ali

The Stage

Rating: 5.0

Bright lights yelling
The stage dancing
The acts thrilling
The applauses thundering

Behold! I am the actor on this stage!

I will only dance to the melody of my calling
Seizing the moment and turning it golden
But nay! i will not be seduced by these bright lights
With its applause and delights

On this stage i am blind to anyone's act
I only see me
My energy will be channelled to my craft
Because this stage is only on a loan

And when the deed is done
The applause is no more
And the lights are dimmed
Curtains drawn

I will not lurk in the shadows
Mourning my past glory
But like a soldier taking his last breath
So will  i take  my deserved seats with the immortals!

You present the actor and his art With dignified glory, And versified beauty, As he plays his life long Inspirational part. Very good poem!
