The Staff Meeting Poem by Galeigh Parkin

The Staff Meeting

'Little Lamb'
Stay with the flock
Do not run astray

The shepherd knows
Who comes and goes
So do not flee away

Your master has a staff
That is in his command
He uses it, to control the herd
'And he has a heavy hand'

The first few times he rescues you
Then, gently brings you back
He wonders if the reprieval,
will keep you on the track?
Seeing, if you trust his guidance,
'To stay within the pack'

'The shepherd has a task to do'
To lead the flock, (including you)
Then bring you home, 'to pastures green'
That roll for miles, to sights unseen

He'll lead you there, and sift the chaff
If you run away, 'you will get the staff'

Follow his directon- or else
'bleat throughout the night'
For when the shepherd used his staff,
'He tried to make you right! '
