The Spring (La Primavera) Poem by Jacson Gelato

The Spring (La Primavera)

New Season, new flowers
new reasons, new lovers;
nothing stops new love from blooming
nothing stops old love from blossoming;
how much they wait for winter to end
and discard the chill that surmounts the air,
the blazing sun though fiery in look
defeated by the gusts of wind and thunderstorms
yet nothing prevents lovers from togetherness;
by the fireplace many ambers turned into ashes
none have forgotten the coldness of harsh winter
it will come next again and demand the same resistance;
yet many hands and lips despite the frost bite
did not stop holding hands or kissing;
love in its fullest strength survives
every peril of every season
whether love old or anew;
spring - a time for romance and vibrancy
primavera - a time for promises to make and keep forever.
