The Sparkling Skull Poem by RebozoAna Rosa

The Sparkling Skull

The death mask's eyes sparkle
and a chill goes down my spine
but wait, before i lose my head
I'll tell you bout this friend of mine
who visits on the day of the dead.
with the colors so vibrant, and the face
so white, its hard to believe that I don't get a fright.
The icing is so hard, and the shell is so sweet,
that this candy is difficult to eat.
I relish the taste of this marvelous treat
and my sweet tooth always claims defeat.
All year I savor the taste of this candy
and whenever I eat it I feel quite dandy.
Oh, I fear, its only onec a year
and then I shed some tears.
