The Space Between Us Poem by BiggRich Shuping

The Space Between Us

Yesterday I thought of you
Like I always do
I thought of how much
I miss you
A desperate attempt
To fill this void within me
I needed something, just anything
To close the space between us
But it didn't serve the purpose
The space only grew bigger

Today I thought of you
Like I always do
I thought of a way
To occupy my mind
But not with you
Anything just to forget
That I miss you
Even if it's only for a minute
So I painted a picture on the wall
But soon erased it
Because it wasn't as beautiful
As your picture in my head
Nor could it fill this void inside me
Or close the space between us
