The Sky's Hope Poem by Tiffany Rose Moczydlowski

The Sky's Hope

Frigid air scrapes my throat
Ice forms, trapping my cheeks
Numbness stabs at my feet
The stars are beautiful tonight

Rage and sorrow battle fiercely
Frailty and power overtake me
Guilt and pride attack innately
The stars are beautiful tonight

Words swirl around my mind.
Run away, half frozen,
To escape my crime,
Pondering the sky.

No matter how hard it is
To stand up for what is right,
One thing will never change-
The stars will stay beautiful tonight.
