The Sky Hawk Poem by RAJ NANDY

The Sky Hawk

THE SKY HAWK

A dead mice lay on our Society floor;
The sweepers had already completed
their day's round;
And the ants in the winter's chill,
Decided to remain underground!
But the telescopic sight of the
sky hawk,
Spotted the little carcass down below,
From its celestial heights!
It swooped down and picked it up
With its razor sharp beak,
In a clen sweep,
And vanished into the thin air, -
Even before the scavenger crows could
realise!
The crows gathered round for a while,
Making only empty sounds!
Beaten once more by the mastery and
supremacy of the sky hawk!
That rules the ethereal space up high,
But nothing escapes those keen eyes!
