The Sight Of Sadness Poem by Chandrashekar a posy poet

The Sight Of Sadness

A dingy bird
with broken wings
whirrs ceaselessly to
fly in vain

An impaired cat
purrs by the side
and consoles the bird with
wearied eyes

While, in the vortex
of my coffee mug
an hapless ant
swiftly sucked in

A wretched mosquito
stuck to the battery bat
and bursts as a firecracker
which confirms its death

A woman lost
in mundane chores
is haunted by the depletion of
cooking gas

A man hurries like hell
to fetch the mango leaves
to decorate his dwelling for
festival of lights
