The Shower Poem by Josephine Lauderdale

The Shower

I think I'll go upstairs now
And wash my hair
I hope it takes longer than I think

And the sun stays out on
My way back down the stairs

The coffee will be getting cooler
If it takes longer than I think
Then I can add ice later

If the sun stays out on
My way back down the stairs

I can watch TV and miss half the shows
If it takes longer than I think
I can consult the guide

I can have left-overs for lunch
If they are still good
But they might not be

If it takes longer than I think
To get back down the stairs

Maybe I'll skip the shower altogether....
