The Shadow Man Poem by David Oladipupo Olorunshola

The Shadow Man

In the thick darkness
Having only the moon for light
The olive trees creating delight
Of huge shadows on the ground
Observing from the pent house background
Then I saw the shadow man
Walking stealthy by the wall
Looking from left to the right
As if searching for something bright
Against the wall he decides to lean
As if debating within himself
Whether to jump the wall
Or go round the block of walls
Light slips through the dense
Of the olive trees to reveal
The shadow man holding a shovel;
Suddenly, a shrill sound
Like that of a whistle came
From within the compound,
The first, then the next
The shadow man took to his heel
He began to run like keel
In the opposite direction
The shovel he carried for action
Dropping it;
He ran
