The Shade Of Darkness And Despair Poem by Franc Rodriguez

The Shade Of Darkness And Despair

A deluge of rain thumps the ground of the earth,
as dewdrops drip from the old rusty shingles.
A twilit of clouds shade the sun as it encompasses,
the mackerel skies and the birds in ripples.
A brittle willow to wither as a crimp branch,
mask indeed the crestfallen rainbow from afar.
And the foliage of sinewy leaves softened first,
by an untilled surface of a clustered willowy mar.
Near our window sill we feel the purity of the rain,
when it moistens our hand as we rub our fingers.
At times we are glum amidst a gloomy setting,
that we feel woe as it abates our hearts in numbers.
A loneliness of which we thus grouse in silence,
and are less sublime to brisk with the bracing air.
We are meek when we are hemmed in a corner,
and we see only the shade of complete despair.
Soon the once deluge of rain and the darkle clouds,
that shaded the sun glisten over the rusty shingles.
And there from aloof the wondrous birds are afresh,
seen amongst the vast moorland in sundry ripples.
