The Seventeen Rainbow Ride Poem by Michael William

The Seventeen Rainbow Ride

Seventeen rainbows over
the midnight sun. Seventeen rainbows,
one for every dollar. Seventeen rainbows
for seventeen roads. And one
highway.

The night as bright
as a crow’s
eye. A demon drop at the
BLACK SKY FAIR.
Step right up.

Step right up.
The muscle-man is dancing with the
midget’s daughter; the
lions are roaring at the feet of the tamer;
the rides spin on and on
as round as time.

The ignition howls in your
fingers.

Seventeen rainbows on the highway,
a gleam in your throat.

You know
the world could explode in
your chest.
Step right up.
Grab the rifle.

Win your love

some prizes.
